John is an estimable portrait and landscape painter and has exhibited widely.
John Glover is a graduate of the Glasgow School of Art, Jordanhill College of Further Education, and the Open University.John worked as a freelance book illustrator in London for such publishers as Evans Bros, Hamlyns, Oxford University Press and Macmillans. Since 1980 he has concentrated on portraiture and landscape painting.
He works in all mediums from pencil to watercolour, pastel to oils.He also teaches in his own private day school on portraiture and life-drawing and summer portrait schools throughout the country and demonstrates regularly to art groups and Societies. Glover has exhibited at The Royal Society of Portrait Painters; The Royal Society of Marine Artists; The Royal Institute of Oil Painters; The Pastel Society and has had various solo exhibitions including The Arts Club, London; The Phoenix Gallery, Lavenham; The Dick Abbott Gallery, Burwell; The Daryl Nantais Gallery, Linton; The Waterloo Gallery, Stranraer and The Clachanmore Gallery, Portpatrick and also exhibits locally. A member of The Cambridge Drawing Society; Bury St Edmund's Arts Society; Suffolk Art Society; Society of East Anglian Watercolourists; Institute of East Anglian Artists and Clare Art Club.
